Keeper of the Night

I am the
Keeper of the
Night

Day’s
Mysterious
Sister

Some cower at the
Precipice of
My Queendom...

My long ebony hair
Weaves shelter
To all who enter;

To all that is
Lost
Feared
Abandoned
Forgotten
Undiscovered
Gestating...

I am
The Ancient Nest,
The Resting Place;

For that which awaits
Emergence
Union
Acceptance...

I suckle the
Unborn dreams,
As babes at my breast,

Holding them
In their
Vulnerable unfolding;

Incubating inspirations
Masquerade as nightmares,
Playing as children
Around my flowing skirts

They delight in
The anticipation of
Being seen,
Unmasked

Their laughter kindles
The fire that
Warms my bones...

Come, Traveler...

Meet me in the
Blue-black of
Midnight;

Where the Raven
Hangs her
Wings
To
Dry...

Remove your
Too-tight crown,

'Let go the heavy burdens of
Suffering
Safety
Order
Tidiness
Meaning...

Leave them
At the door.

Fall
Into
Me,

Wander...

Where the
Onyx peacock spreads
her wings
Like a geisha's fan...

Darkness;

Where all eyes
Are blind,

And all blind
Receive
Holy Vision.

Lay down your sword,
The battle is over,

I will
Sing you the song
Of ease,

As you wake the
Sleeping phantoms,
And invite them
To the dance;

Re-scribing the pages
Of the books in
My sacred library...

I will lovingly watch you
Stumble and fall,
As you take your seat in
My dark and dreamy hollows,

And,
Until you are inclined to present
Your treasures at
The door of my sister;

I bid you
Stay,
And Welcome...
