I am the Song

I am the song and the one who sings it…

I am the ten thousand names for beauty
that live in the belly of the wound…

I am the sacred buzzing bee and the sticky,
sweet honey that drips from the hive…

I am the Queen in her fullness,
married to the King inside herself…

I am the poison
and the medicine…

I am the quiet kiss and the
lighting bolt that strikes with fury…

I am the wanderer who is
home wherever I roam…

I am the light that illuminates your eye
from the star that has long gone dark…

I am the bird in your heart
that can never be caged…

I am the tender center
and the hardened shell…

I am the virgin child
giving birth to wonder…

I am the great and holy paradox
rousing you from your slumber;

the sound of your own aliveness,
rushing like a river
through the corridors of life…
