Homage to Napatree

I have been touched
by your magic
since my mother
walked your shoreline
with me inside her belly…

upon your mutable terrain

I have

wandered
and played

napped and noshed
grieved and prayed

celebrated
dreamed
and visioned

star gazed

ridden
your wild, salty swells

floated atop
your azure depths
unlocking the mysteries
of the cosmos

kissed and been kissed
loved and been loved

released tender burdens
and baptized myself anew
lost and found myself
in the wonder of it all…

I have created
myriad reflections of beauty
in your generous landscapes,

walked upon
your sustaining terrain,
with my own precious child
resting quietly in my belly…

my beloved muse;

always welcoming me
with open arms,

no matter
your mood
or temperature...

eternally offering
your promise
of recalibration,

with your waves

your dunes
your slender grasses

your sun
and your moon

your whispers in the wind
your boundless, starry skies

your tender treasures
scattered along
your soft, sandy edges;

the benevolent arc
of your sacred, earthen spine…

that so graciously yields
to the ocean…
